Well-known musician Chris Edwards is hosting a live recording Jan. 21 12 noon at Greater Emmanuel Church 3915 Kelley St Houston, TX 77026. There is no admission charge.

Well-wishers came out to celebrate Dr. Bettye Ransom Nelson at her Birthday and Appreciation Concert last week. The concert was held at Jericho City COGIC, where her son, Brian R. Nelson is Pastor.

Performers and attendees included Houston Mass Choir, Ron Mattere, Nikki Ross, Chad Stevenson, Kenneth Owens II & Gospel Heritage Youth & Young Adult Choir, Shawn & Rhonda McLemore,  William Barksdale, Leon Lewis, Joey Oscar, Theola Booker and many more.

COGIC is coming to town! The 2nd rehearsal of the COGIC AIM Mass Choir will be held again at New Life Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Dr. Carl Davis, Pastor. This rehearsal expects COGIC Music Dept. President and gospel star Judith McCallister to be in attendance. Gospel artist and Min. of Music at New Life, Ron Summers is the local music chair.

The International Auxiliaries In Ministry Convention (AIM), the annual summer convention of the multi-million member Church Of God In Christ, Inc., will convene July 4 – 8, 2011 in Houston, TX. AIM is expected to attract over 30,000 delegates for a week of training, fellowship and spiritual renewal.

Elder Carl Davis is host pastor and Ron Summers, music and arts chair for the event.

The Nelson family is known for their talents, Brian Nelson is a vocalist and pastor that’s been featured on TBN and at conventions across the country, Dr. Bettye Nelson has released classic music with COGIC for decades and Alvaneeta Nelson, was recently featured on Pastor Gregg Patrick’s “Bridge Project” on Tyscot Records.

Now, N3, Alvaneeta Nelson, Marquise Nelson and Mia Nelson-Tatum, is set to make a name a name for themselves in the gospel industry as a collective group with their single “I Delight.” It was released at a concert in Houston, TX in 2010. Their full project is titles, “Treasures.”
