Johnson has written over 22 stage-plays throughout the years. This one is set to make her presence even more known in the industry and within the Houston arts community. Cast members in past plays have included well-known entertainers as GRAMMY nominated, Stellar Award winning artist Vickie Winans. She has high hopes for the play and wishes it well, “I am so proud of Annie Johnson’s plays and their success.” Pastor Thurman West of Southeast Community church says that Johnson’s plays “Bring out every emotion in you. You will leave remembering what’s really important in life.”

The Roommate is not exempted from that review. Johnson says that this production is “filled with twist, suspense and heartwarming inspiration!”

The Roommate is about an attractive, successful former classmate from the past returning to her hometown with a physical transformation. She has only one agenda; to seek revenge on her bullies for all her hurts and abuse during high school. Her former bully unknowingly advertises for a new roommate, soon, he is confronted with his past face-to-face.

After writing over 22 popular stage plays which include, “Am I My Brothers Keeper?”, “What’s Going On in the House?”, “Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places,” to name a few, she hopes that this production is just as successful as one held in 2008. “No More Drama Remix,” featured Vickie Winans and is in the planning stages to begin production as a feature film and to tour nationally. Johnson also writes and composes all of the music in her productions.

She exclaims that “AWJ Productions‘ reality-based and inspirational stage-plays have provided audiences with more than just entertainment. Our plays are used as a means to impact and inspire the masses through drama.”

Pre-sale tickets for The Roommate are now available for $25. They will be $35 the week of the show and $45 at the door. For more details, visit www.awjproduction.biz or call the event line at 281.888.3953.
