James Fortune receives two ASCAP Awards

Houston gospel music artist James Fortune will receive two honors from the performing rights association, ASCAP, at the Annual Rhythm & Soul Awards on June 24th. Fortune will be recognized for his outstanding writing on his current hit gospel songs “Encore” and “I Believe.“

Fortune and his vocal group F.I.Y.A. garnered mass recognition in 2009 with the record-breaking song “I Trust You,” from their sophomore release The Transformation.

The 24th ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards will take place on Friday, June 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards honors the most successful songwriters and publishers of the past year in R&B, Hip Hop and Gospel music.
