Report: Kim Burrell Set for Gospel Version of ‘Empire’

Kim Burrell is no stranger to expanding her reach with innovative opportunities. IndieWire interviewed former Scandal co-star Columbus Short recently about plans to re-enter television. During the discussion, he revealed a promising project featuring the Houston gospel talent.

…I’m producing a show at Bounce TV with my brother [Bounce TV president] Ryan Glover along with Russ Parr and Swirl Films. We’re producing a show that’s basically the Gospel “Empire.” It’s going to be full of drama and great music. Kim Burrell is executive music producer.

There is no confirmed release date, but it sounds interesting.
