Remembering James Cleveland produced “Touch Me” by B.C. & S. and Pentecostal Ambassadors
We’re taking a look back at a classic James Cleveland song with a Houston connection. Hank Neal, late gospel artist and former head of Windsor Village and Wheeler Ave. Baptist Church music ministries, formed a group called Pentecostal Ambassadors. During a Gospel Music Workshop of America conference, the trio was signed to a recording contract by gospel legend James Cleveland. Pastor of Houston’s Fountain of Praise Church, Remus Wright later joined the group.
Another trio of the 1970’s, B. C. & S., (Brenda Waters, Carl Preacher and Shirley Joiner) recorded the track as well. Both versions have their own flavor. Listen and let us know what you think of each version.
