‘Sunday Best’ season six brings change in winners’ contract

The season six audition of BET’s highly popular gospel talent show Sunday Best was showcased from Houston’s New Light Church following the 2013 BET Awards Sunday night. The preview featured commentary from returning judges Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin and Cece Winans.

There was a noticeable change in the opening credits, the winner was announced to be a winner of a “recording contract with Kirk Franklin’s Fo Yo Soul/RCA Records,” not  Mathew Knowles ‘ Music World Gospel. The label had an exclusive deal with BET to sign past winners and runners up, Le’Andria Johnson, Elder Goldwire McClendon, Amber Bullock, Joshua Rogers and Alexis Spight. This relationship began in 2011.
