Throwback | Royce Johnson & Holy Temple of Jesus Christ

Church choir music is something highly sought after and celebrated in Houston, Royce Johnson’s Holy Temple Choir made a statement with music during their heyday. With songs like Jesus Went Out His Way,  choirs freely sang them on Sunday morning, adding to their relevance during the 80s. Recently, Houston’s 5th Sunday Choir can be heard singing the track. Also, on We Shall Reap A Harvest of Blessings, you can hear the song’s writer, David Allen (of which 5 songs on the project was written  by) leading the track. The song was later recorded by Keith Pringle and the Pentecostal Community Choir on their 1983 album “Prayer And Faith.” Check out this musical playlist and remember the old Houston choir sound.
