Author and musician W. Keith Eason has released his new book, The Houston Gospel Sound, a project he describes as several years in the making. According to Eason, the book is both a personal mission and a dedicated effort to document the singers, musicians, educators, and radio personalities who helped shape Houston’s gospel music landscape.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Eason said he is “drained and exhilarated” now that the book is complete. He expressed gratitude to editor Michael David Harrison for his support and to the musicians who contributed their biographies to the project. Eason added that he hopes the book will help unite the gospel community and encourage continued collaboration.
Eason says that the book should be used as a reference resource for libraries and gospel music enthusiasts.
